Wish List

We are currently looking for the following things or skills for our community gardens and farm program. If you have any of these, please let us know. Thank you!

Big Items

  • 20′ Storage container (air/sea container) for farm storage
  • 35-45 hp farm tractor with front loader and 3-pt hitch
  • Tractor implements (all 5ft wide) - Mechanical spader for 45 hp tractor, 7ft offset wheel disc, flail mower bed shaper, springtooth harrow
  • Fencing supplies for perimeter of the farm (see medium items for specifics)
  • Water catchment system for roof tops on farm buildings
  • New wood to build our outdoor classroom at the Bounty Farm (talk to Amy for size and quantity specifications)

Medium Items

  • solid metal wheelbarrows
  • 4″x4″x 8′ Redwood fence posts
  • 2″x4″x 8′ Redwood or cedar (for fence rails)
  • Assorted 2″x4, 6, 8, 10 or 12″ and 4″x4″ redwood or cedar lumber for garden boxes, shade arbors, and other garden structures
  • Welded mesh deer fencing (5′ high, 6″x6″–600 ft of it)
  • Shelving brackets and shelves (for farm storage)
  • Garden sheds (at least 8′x8′) for new community gardens
  • Wooden garden benches
  • A garden cart (larger than a wheelbarrow)

    Small Items

    • Large plastic crates for harvesting produce at the farm
    • Berry plants (raspberry, blueberry, marionberry, ollalie berry, boysenberry, blackberry)
    • Organics eeds for vegetables and flowers
    • Perennial plants (including natives) for hedgerows to encourage insects and birds
    • Vermicompos t(worm) bins

    Basic tools for repair and maintenience

    • Sawzall reciprocating saw
    • Circular saw
    • Cordless drill and drill bit set
    • Hi-lift jack
    • Pipe wrenches metric and standard
    • Socket set
    • Chainsaw
    • Bench grinder with one end as a wire wheel
    • Angle grinder with abrasive blades and wire wheel

    Other stuff

      • Educational signage for gardens and farms (can you make nice signs?)
      • Chicken coop for 10-20 chickens (or help us build one)
      • Scholarship money to pay high school students a stipend to work at the farm
      • Library collection of books related to organic farming and gardening

      Skills & Time

      • Gardeners and farmers - to assist Amy (the Bounty Farm manager) to plan, clear, propagate plants in the greenhouse, plant and harvest all the great food we’ll be growing on the farm.
      • Carpenters/Woodworkers - to help us build community garden signs, bulletin boards, wash tables for the farm and other structures
      • Web designers/html coders - to help us continue to improve and maintain our website
      • Researchers - to help us learn more about various programs and policy issues elsewhere in the country that we can learn from
      • Writers - to write interesting and informative posts for our various blog topics
      • Administrative - Develop and maintain record keeping systems, etc.
