Bounty Farm Work Day & Garden Irrigation Workshop, Saturday July 12th, 9 to 3

The Bounty Farm is in full  swing, with a wide variety of organically grown flowers and vegetables in various stages of life.  If you haven’t been to the Farm lately, you’ll be amazed at the changes that have taken place, just since last month, when North Bay Construction began grading the site, generously donating its services.

In addition to the usual variety of farm jobs to be done, I’ll also be leading a workshop on Wise Watering for your Garden Bounty, from 12:30 to 1:15 (right after lunch).

This upcoming work day, we’ll be working on…

  • Pathway mulching
  • Fence-building
  • Clearing beds of finished crops
  • Tying up the tomatoes
  • Transplanting perennial plants
  • Moving rocks to the outdoor classroom area
  • Sharing a potluck lunch and learning about water-wise garden irrigation

What to bring (if you have them):

  • good food and/or drinks to share
  • sturdy boots, strong gloves, sun screen and hat
  • chainsaw or sawsall
  • carpentry tools
  • wheel barrows
  • pick ax
  • pry bars
  • shovels and rakes
  • hand trowels

I hope you can join us for some good old fashioned hard work, getting dirty, and learning together, while we continue to grow this great community farm.  Please bring your friends and family of all ages.

For more information or to RSVP, please call me at 775-3663 (ext 213), or email me at [email protected] I look forward to seeing you there!
