Saturday, Febuary 14th (9 to 3)
This will be the one year anniversary of the first work day on the farm and what better way to show your love for this farm on Valentine’s Day than coming out here and beautifying the Bounty Farm. At our February work day last year, we tore down three wooden shacks and filled a large dumpster with trash from the farm. This year, we have new large piles of debris from our barn that fell down in January. We could use some help sorting these piles into reusable and non-reusable materials. We also have some finishing touches to work on around the new greenhouse and potting shed as well as some compost piles that could use a turning. No shortage of fun here!
We’ll take a break for our potluck lunch and share with you our vision for the Bounty Farm for 2009 and for years to come. There will also be dried flowers to make simple bouquets that you can take home to your loved ones.
What to bring (if you have them):
- good food and/or drinks to share (we always have a delicious lunch together around noon)
- bowl or plate and silverware (so we don’t create too much waste)
- sturdy boots, strong gloves, sun screen and hat
- carpentry tools (especially digging bars, crow bars, saws-all for pulling apart wood in the big pile)
As always, you can expect some good old fashioned hard work, getting dirty, and learning together, while we continue to grow this great community farm. Please bring your friends and family of all ages.
