Anyone who has visited the Bounty Farm has likely met Amy Rice-Jones. Amy joined Petaluma Bounty in early 2008 with the mission of turning a 2 acre debris-strewn urban lot into an educational farm that would engage the community in learning about and participating in growing sustainable healthy food. This is exactly what Farmer Amy has done.
The Bounty Farm site today is almost unrecognizable from what it was just 2½ years ago. Through Amy’s hard work and generous spirit (and help from many of you), the Bounty Farm truly has become a community farm.
As Amy moves on to her next chapter of life as a nutrition educator and garden coordinator in Hayward, I want to express our appreciation for her countless contributions to Petaluma Bounty and to the Petaluma community. We will sorely miss her!
Please join me and Petaluma Bounty staff, board members and friends on Saturday, September 11th at noon, for a potluck lunch at the Bounty Farm to celebrate Amy’s many contributions, to hear more about her new position, and to say farewell.
Please bring your own plates, cups, and utensils. To let us know you can make it, kindly RSVP to Ruth Persselin at 364-9118 or [email protected]. We hope to see you there!
