Come help us build the Bounty Farm Greenhouse! November 15th, 9 am to 3 pm

Join us for this Community Greenhouse Raising day at the Bounty Farm.  The farming season isn’t quite over yet and we are getting the farm geared up for next spring.  You do not want to miss this exciting work day where we will be building and raising the Bounty Farm’s new greenhouse.  So please bring your family and friends to the Bounty Farm on Saturday, November 15th from 9 am to 3 pm.

This will be a fun event for all ages and skill levels in carpentry, though skilled carpenters are definitely encouraged to come and share their expertise. The greenhouse is going to be 18 feet wide and 40 feet long with tables inside for the plants. On Saturday, we will be raising the trusses for the greenhouse and anchoring them to pillars in the ground, installing and painting clips, building tables, and anchoring the plastic film covering to the greenhouse.

At the end of the day we will have the satisfaction of seeing the Bounty Farm’s new greenhouse!

The materials for this greenhouse were purchased with a generous grant from the Exchange Bank.

What to bring (if you have them):

  • good food and/or drinks to share (we always have a delicious lunch together around noon)
  • bowl or plate and silverware (so we don’t create too much waste)
  • sturdy boots, strong gloves, sun screen and hat
  • carpentry tools

As always, you can expect some good old fashioned hard work, getting dirty, and learning together, while we continue to grow this great community farm. Please bring your friends and family of all ages.

For more information or to RSVP, please call me at 775-3663 (ext 213), or email me at amy@petalumabounty.org. I look forward to seeing you there!
