On Monday, September 10th, the Petaluma City Council unanimously approved our proposal to create a new community garden at La Tercera Park.  This garden, planned in partnership with La Tercera neighbors, will feature 15 community garden plots, a shaded common area for teaching, rest and gathering, a children’s garden area, along with compost areas and a garden shed.Â
The garden planning team is currently seeking donations of fencing, gardening and shed materials, and working with the City to install the irrigation system. Once the irrigation system is in place, we’ll be scheduling a garden work days to actually build the garden.  Â
Community garden work days are lots of fun for all ages, featuring good hard work, good food, and tons of community spirit. Please stay tuned as we’ll be publishing these dates soon.
