All through the year we are continually blown away by the kindness of our community to supply us with donations to keep our community farm up and running. Whether it is a soil donation to help us get ready for planting on the farm and the plant sale or someone putting the change from their produce purchase in our Sponsor-A-Box jar, we express our gratitude for our wonderful community. So many folks this year donated planter pots, wheelbarrows, seeds, tools, paint, gloves, ect.
Special thanks to Cattle Rancher Steve for the huge donation of tools and planting pots! He went above and beyond with sharing his extra supplies during his period of downsizing. He is experiencing land displacement and looking for land to house his ~15 cattle ideally in Petaluma/Penngrove, but open to other areas in Sonoma County. We have been given a wonderful surplus of seeds over the years as well as planting containers and tools. We took this opportunity to spread the gardening wealth to those in our community who could benefit from some extra supplies to keep doing the wonderful work that they are doing in their communities. COVID has created a huge strain on resources and donations normally available to nonprofits and schools because of the overwhelming demand by home gardeners to grow their own. Seed continues to be in short supply and we expect difficulty obtaining it next year – so please continue to help resource Bounty Farm so we can keep feeding and resourcing others in need.You can donate seed or donate a gift card to a local hardware store or nursery. Huge thanks to all of those who responded to our call out for community gardens, school gardens, and urban farmers to come pick up some supplies for the year.
A few groups who came out to the farm this year were Sequoia Elementary, St. James Garden, Indigenous Permaculture, Lydia Common, Graton Rancheria Farm, and more!
