Community Gardens

Petaluma Bounty has a long history of starting and supporting community gardens. Garden Starts was one of our first initiatives which resulted in the creation of 8 community gardens across Petaluma. For more information on the process of starting those gardens, please click here.

Take Action:

Starting in 2023, Petaluma Bounty is coordinating community gardens on city property. We’re excited to support community gardens and gardeners to grow their own bounty!

Arroyo Community Garden

Arroyo Community Garden has been alive and growing for fourteen years. Arroyo Community Garden exists on land generously provided by the Living Word Lutheran Church with the help and guidance from Petaluma Bounty and members of our community. The garden is about 8000 square feet with a 9000 square foot orchard attached. We usually have an average of 25 members, 27 raised beds as well as common grounds, a compost area and a shared tool shed. Dogs are welcome. Please visit here to find updates or just show up for a work day and to get yourself a garden box. We are there most Saturdays these days. Follow our blog for updates and information Arroyo Community Garden (arroyogarden.blogspot.com).

Sunrise Community Garden

Sunrise Community Garden, located on Sunrise Parkway in Petaluma, was established in 2011 by the Bounty Farm and neighborhood gardeners. The goal is for 20 families to learn and put into practice the time-honored skills necessary to grow natural, chemical free food. We practice “zero waste” by donating excess produce to the community to enjoy. Current cost is $60 annually for a box and we require 16 hours a year be given by each member focused on the care of the general garden area. We also have garden workdays the third Saturday of each month to help tend the general garden. All are welcome to come out and assist us! If you are interested in joining our community, please email Mary Fairow, President of Sunrise Community Garden.

La Tercera Community Garden

La Tercera Community Garden is currently being revitalized and re-established after years of non-use. Petaluma Bounty has established a contract with the City of Petaluma to support the community in building a new and beautiful garden space. With the community’s help the garden will be up and running soon! If you are interested in helping out or applying for a plot to garden, please email our Community Gardens Coordinator.
