Get your Fall garden started at our first annual Fall Plant Sale! There will be hundreds of plants for sale on Sunday, September 6th at the Bounty Community Farm, located at 55 Shasta Ave in Petaluma. The plant list includes: leeks, onions, broccoli, broccolini, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, kohlrabi, beets, peas, marigolds (that should flower in time for Dia de los Muertos), chard, collards, kale, cilantro, oregano, parsley, sage, cat grass, artichokes, arugula, salad mix, stir fry mix, bac choy, lettuce, radicchio, and a few other surprises! Specific varieties will be published closer to the event- stay in touch via the webpage or the Facebook event!

Proceeds from the First Annual Fall Plant Sale support the Bounty Community Farm Programs and other initiatives that provide healthy food to low-income families and seniors that may not otherwise be able to afford it. Grow your own food while helping others grow theirs and promote year-round gardening!

Veggie seedlings ready for planting will start at $3.00.Thanks to our sponsors, Petaluma Bounty will be offering a dollar for dollar match, up to $10, for anyone purchasing their edible plants with CalFresh (EBT)! We will gladly accept EBT cards, cash and credit for payment at this event.Remember, we offer a 30% discount for low-income customers and 50% off for people on Calfresh (EBT), as mentioned above!

Health Considerations:  Due to the continued presence of Covid-19 in our community, we have had to rearrange how we handle our community plant sales to limit the amount of people on the farm as we comply with social distancing guidelines. No more than ten people will be allowed to sign up for a time slot at once in order to keep distancing possible on the farm. Also, you will be required to wear a mask and ask that you use our hand sanitizing station before going to the main shopping area. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Once you have a timeslot through Calendly, you will be able to choose your plants at the Bounty Farm on a first come, first served basis. We will not use an online platform and thus cannot guarantee the plants you want will be in stock – no holds, no online sales, less fuss! In the spirit of community, we will be asking that you keep your purchase to 20 plants to make sure there is plenty to go around! Also, please bring your own boxes to carry your plants.

The first hour (9-10am) will be for seniors, EBT customers, and those who cannot purchase their plants at other commercial outlets due to health considerations. Please be mindful and considerate when blocking your time slot for the event. If you need assistance with signing up for a time slot, please contact Sarah at (707) 364-4866 or sarah@petalumabounty.org

Plants not sold at this one-day event will be sold the following week at our farm stand on Thursday or Walnut Park Farmers’ Market on Saturday. Any remaining plants will be donated to community!

For those that are unable to reserve a time slot, please check out our other great community resources for year-round gardening: Cottage Gardens, Harmony Farm Supply and Nursery, and Friedmans.

We are excited to announce that we will also have our fully stocked Farmstand up and running for the full six hours! Come ready to shop and enjoy our summer Bounty!

Petaluma Bounty is a program of Petaluma People Services Center, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

A program of Petaluma People Services Center, Petaluma Bounty is improving the quality of food offered by emergency food distributors through the Bounty Hunters gleaning program. We are increasing low-income consumers’ purchasing power through local affordable food incentives such Market Match, sliding scale farm stands and CSA memberships, as well as maximizing awareness and participation in federal food programs such as WIC, SNAP, and Meals on Wheels. We are increasing food literacy – knowledge of how food is grown and where it comes from – for children, youth and adults. We are working to change attitudes and appetites for healthy food and active lifestyles. We are expanding our community’s capacity to grow its own food by supporting the construction of community gardens and empowering others by sharing our knowledge. And finally, we are engaging our whole community to become active, informed agents of change of their food system.
