Meet the Bounty Interns: Fall 2018

As a key part of our mighty Bounty team, our interns, who help seed, plant, water, harvest, and sell the produce that you see in the fields or at Farmers’ Market, pour so much of their hearts into our organization and keep us running each fall, spring, and summer. Last season, we introduced you to some of the hard-working, talented, and dedicated interns who were a large part of the work entailed in getting the farm geared up for a busy summer. This season, we have been thrilled not only to be joined again by some of our stellar summer interns who have continued into autumn, but by our new fall interns, Nellie and Tiff! Check out their stories below and be sure to say hello when you see them at the farm.

Tiffany Dawson

My name is Tiffany Dawson, and I am from San Geronimo, California.  I am currently finishing a Master’s Program in Public Health at the University of San Francisco.  With an undergrad degree in Environmental Science/Studies, a Permaculture Certificate, and a decade of annual healthcare/social justice work in Guatemala, I am passionate about helping people find their way back to health and well-being through reconnection to land, wild spaces, and the natural world.  With Petaluma Bounty I am helping people to do this through the ALIVE program, where farm work, nutrition education, and skill-building components help participants build their knowledge and skill-base and enable to them to have a greater sense of self efficacy with regard to healthy eating and healthy living.  When I am not at the Bounty I am trail riding, running, hiking, and foraging in the hills of West Marin with my dog, Molly.

Nelly Stastny

Hi, my name is Nelly Stastny and I’m a senior at Sonoma State University. I’m a Hutchins/Liberal Studies major with a minor in sociology, and am a proud member of the Zeta Gamma chapter of Gamma Phi Beta. I have a deep passion for bettering the lives of those around me and exploring and understanding cultures near and far. I’m thankful to have an opportunity to work with Petaluma Bounty because of the new experiences that are offered through community outreach and education. I’m excited to work on my green thumb and spend even more time in the great outdoors with Petaluma Bounty!
