2021 Spring Intern Introductions

Every Spring, Summer, and Fall, we are happy to welcome a new cohort of interns into the Petaluma Bounty Family. Our internship program over the years has helped train young farmers and created a network of folks invested in our work at the Bounty Community Farm. In fact, we often joke that once you intern with us, you’re stuck forever! Sarah, our nutrition incentives and communications coordinator; Elizabeth, our program associate; our board member Elizabeth; and even our fearless leader, Suzi all started out as interns doing various things at the Bounty!

The experiences of interns vary but we offer a variety of options for folks depending on their educational or experiential needs.

Some examples of focuses that we are offer are:

  • Farm Production
  • Glean Coordinator
  • Volunteer Coordination & Recruitment
  • Communication & Outreach
  • Non-profit Administration
  • Farm Education & Curriculum Development
  • Farmers’ Market and Farm Stand Direct Sales
  • Farmers’ Market LIFE Administration Support

Also, we are willing to work with students on whatever their needs are to help them gain the necessary experience and skills to further their goals!

Please join us in welcoming our 2021 Spring Interns!

Hello my name is Haley Millerick I am a Sonoma County Native

I am getting my BA in May in Communications and I am so happy to be part of this wonderful community here at Petaluma Bounty! I am going to be completing the orchard project here and I am excited to get this accomplished so I can communicate more to the local community what this project consists of!

You’ll be hearing from me soon and I cannot wait to be a bigger part of this wonderful mission!

Jane is passionate about food justice, and is excited to work with Petaluma Bounty to learn more about Petaluma’s food security network. She recently graduated from college, and hopes to spread what she has learned about using food as medicine. In her spare time, Jane goes on walks, grows mushrooms, writes on her blog, and cooks.

Samantha Arenas is a fourth year at Sonoma State University majoring in Geography, Environment, and Planning with a focus on Society, Environment and Development. She is interested in sustainable development and food justice and hopes to work for a non profit organization after graduation.

We are excited to share out the projects these wonderful interns will be working on in the coming months!

If you, or someone you know, is interested in interning with us, please fill out or send our intern questionnaire and Sarah will reach out to you!
