We’re excited to share that the 2025 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) distribution is continuing into September! That means there are still plenty of opportunities for eligible seniors to receive and use their special SFMNP debit cards.
These cards provide $50 in benefits per eligible senior household and can be used directly with certified farmers for fresh fruits, vegetables, and honey. The goal of the program is to make healthy, local food more accessible for seniors while also supporting our hardworking farmers.
Important Reminders About SFMNP
- First come, first served: cards are limited and distributed while supplies last.
- One card per senior, per household: if you’ve already received a card this season, you are not eligible for a second.
- Certified farmers only: look for the SFMNP sign at booths to know where your card can be spent.
- Ambassadors will be on-site at each market to assist with distribution, answer questions, and help activate cards.
- Customers must use up 2025 SFMNP cards by November 30, 2025! You can make purchases in any amount, but the entire $50 must be used by Nov. 30, 2025, or the leftover amount will be lost.
August Opportunities (Still Available!)
If you haven’t picked up your card yet, don’t worry — there are still several August dates left! Petaluma Bounty’s Farmers Market Ambassadors will be at the following farmers markets to distribute the cards. Just visit the farmers market manager’s booth to fill out forms. Seniors do not have to show proof of income eligibility, but instead, must sign a form self-attesting to eligibility.
