Petaluma Bounty’s 3rd Annual Plant Sale will be held on Sunday, September 11 at the Bounty Community Farm, located at 55 Shasta Ave in Petaluma. All customers must sign up for a shopping time slot ahead of the sale. Signups open on Friday, September 2, so check back on our web page, sign up for our newsletter, and follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
You’ll find popular favorites including beets, cabbage, onions, peas, lettuce, spinach, and chard. Learn from local gardening experts which varieties will do best in your garden and how to get seedlings off to a healthy start. Specific varieties will be published closer to the event on our website and social media.
We are also seeking volunteers for the sale. Click here to sign up.
Discounts for CalFresh customers
Plant prices start at $3.00. We will gladly accept EBT cards, cash, and credit for payment.
Thanks to our sponsors, Petaluma Bounty will be offering a dollar-for-dollar match, up to $20, for anyone purchasing their edible plants with CalFresh (EBT).
Proceeds from the Annual Fall Plant Sale support the Bounty Community Farm Programs and other initiatives that provide healthy food to low-income families and seniors that may not otherwise be able to afford it. Grow your own food while helping others grow theirs!
Customer sign-ups open on September 2
Ahead of the sale, all customers will need to sign up for a 30-minute time slot through Calendly. We will post the link on our website, newsletter, and social media on September 2.
9 a.m. to 11 a.m. is reserved for qualified customers
We are reserving 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for people who may need extra health precautions or will be stretched to purchase their plants at other outlets.
- Immunocompromised folks
- People with disabilities
- Customers paying with EBT (CalFresh)
can schedule their 30-minute purchasing spot by emailing education@petalumabounty.org. The intent is to ensure that those who cannot purchase their plants at other commercial outlets, due to health or payment considerations, have the opportunity to do so at our community farm.
What we request; what you can expect
- We continue to be vigilant against Covid-19. Please bring a mask, limit your party’s number to a minimum, and be ready to take social distancing precautions on site.
- Please bring boxes and carts to carry your selections. We have a limited number of carts and wheelbarrows, plus staff and volunteers who can assist you.
- Once you arrive at the farm, we will check you in, make sure you’re on the list and orient you to the site.
- You will then have 30 minutes to make your selection and pay for your plants. Do your research ahead of time to make the most of your time. Consider making a list of your preferred plants and second choices as we will run out of popular varieties. Plant varieties and descriptions will be posted as the Plant Sale date approaches.
- Accepted forms of payment: Cash, EBT, credit, and debit cards.
- Shopping is on a first-come, first-served basis. We will not use an online platform and thus cannot guarantee the plants you want will be in stock – no holds, no online sales, less fuss!
