This event is well aligned with our mission of getting healthy food to everyone through collaboration, education, and promoting self-sufficiency. It is our hope that providing sustainably raised starts for sale to the public, we are making it easier for others to start a garden or to continue gardening here in beautiful Sonoma County. We like to make this a family-fun event with music, food, tours and other fun activities for the community. Sales and donations from the event go to supporting our programs and efforts to make a strong, vibrant local food system that works well for all.
Due to the generosity of our sponsors, Petaluma Bounty will be able to offer a discount incentive for anyone purchasing their edible plants with CalFresh (food stamps). We want to make it easier for people on a limited budget to be able to grow their own food if they so choose. So, Petaluma Bounty is providing a 50% discount for purchases up to $15 ($30 total) for edible plants purchased with CalFresh.
Petaluma Bounty’s goal for the weekend is to motivate community members to grow more food for themselves and others through the purchase of sustainably grown starts. Additionally, as a mission-aligned fundraiser, we hope to raise approximately $7,000 for our programs, including the Bounty Community Farm, Food Access initiatives including the Bounty Farmacy and Famers’ Market LIFE, the food recovery program Bounty Hunters, and food literacy programs including ALIVE, field trips and more!
