Save Market Match!

The California Nutrition Incentive Program (CNIP), which funds Market Match and Senior Bounty Bucks, has been cut from the proposed state budget starting in 2025. That means, without our collective actions, Market Match will disappear in 2025 and Senior Bounty Bucks will not be renewed.

In 2023, $8.1 million was spent at California farmers markets through the Market Match program. This is an estimated 16.2 million servings of fruits and vegetables and had a $24.3 million economic impact on local communities statewide.

Closer to home, in Sonoma and Northern Marin Counties, the impact of Market Match in 2023 was equally impressive through the Farmers Market L.I.F.E. (FM LIFE) network of 19 farmers markets and two CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture programs). Market Match utilization at FM LIFE sites reached $118,004. This represented 8,719 transactions, 426 new customers, and $350,000 in economic impact on our local community.
