“We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community…Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own.” – Cesar Chávez
Cesar Estrada Chávez, along with Dolores Huerta and organizers for the United Farm Workers union, is known for his pioneering work in the fight for farmworkers’ rights, environmental justice, and non-violence. In honor of his life as a dedicated labor leader, activist, and organizer, Bounty Farm joins other organizations in holding the annual Cesar Chávez Day of Service on March 30th.
We will spend a beautiful spring day working in the land with community as we get the farm ready for the spring and summer season. Please visit our Facebook event here if you’d like to let us know that you’ll be there!

WHERE: Bounty Farm, 55 Shasta Ave, Petaluma
WHEN: Saturday, March 30th, 2019, 10am to 1pm
ACTIVITIES: We will be working in the fields and greenhouse with activities such as potting up plants, weeding, sheet mulching, planting and preparing for the Plant Sale. We will also be holding a sharing circle in remembrance of Cesar Chávez and his work in social justice, workers’ rights, and non-violence. Please bring any quotes, thoughts, or reflections that you would like to share as we honor his legacy.
Kids and families welcome! Please bring clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, snacks, and a reusable water bottle. If you are coming with a group of more than 5 people, we request that you let us know in advance by emailing education@petalumabounty.org. Looking forward to seeing you there!
