Petaluma Garden Club will feature Petaluma Bounty at its March 10 meeting, open to the public. No RSVPs are necessary; everyone is welcome to attend!
Allison Eckert, Petaluma Bounty’s community resources coordinator, is the featured speaker. The meeting is on Monday, March 10, at the Petaluma Veterans Memorial Building, 1094 S. Petaluma Blvd. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting begins at 10 a.m.
Eckert plans to discuss local efforts to reduce food waste and increase food security, local community gardens, programming on our farm, and more.
Eckert joined Petaluma Bounty in 2023, bringing 10 years of experience in food systems nonprofits and an unquenchable enthusiasm for finding every last Petaluma apple a happy home.
Petaluma Bounty’s 2-acre community farm, located at 55 Shasta Ave., features a demonstration garden called the Unity Garden, operated by members of the University of California Master Gardener Program of Sonoma County. In partnership with local farmers and the Master Gardeners, Eckert leads the Bounty Hunters food recovery program, which harvests surplus food at local farms and gardens for donation to food pantries.
