Interested in keeping honey bees?

Whether you’re simply curious or ready to start your own hive, the Master Gardeners of Sonoma County have a workshop for you.

The workshop will feature Tom Courry, a beekeeper with 45 years of experience and a longtime member of the Sonoma County Beekeepers Association.

Tom’s presentation will cover the fundamentals of beekeeping, including:

• Essential beekeeping equipment
• Choosing the ideal location for your hive
• Basic colony management
• What to expect as a beginning beekeeper

This free program will provide a practical introduction to the rewarding world of beekeeping. Following the presentation, enjoy a guided tour of the Unity Demonstration Garden to learn about some of the best plants for supporting honey bees and other important pollinators.
