A Year-End Message from Our Community Gardens Coordinator

Editor’s Note: Raney, our farm assistant-turned-community gardens coordinator, put her heart and soul into kicking off the revitalization of La Tercera Community Garden this year. She shares the following message as 2023 comes to a close. We thank everyone for supporting our efforts to revitalize community gardens this year and look forward to continued progress in community-building this year.

A Year of Rebuilding

2023, for Community Gardens, has been a year of rebuilding and reconnecting. Gardeners met with one another to discuss the failures of the past and envision a future of growth and community.

As the winter rain prepares our garden plots for the abundance of spring and summer, I want to acknowledge the hard work that has been done by all the leaders and gardeners in our community gardens across Petaluma.

I look forward to 2024 to observe the continued growth of La Tercera Community Garden. As I look back on this year and welcome in another, I want to share a Haiku that I have written about the changing seasons. I wish peace to all this New Year!
