April at the Farmers Markets: Growing Community & Celebrating Mother Earth

As we welcome April, we’re leaning into the season of growth — not just in the fields, but in our community, too. This month, we’re shining a light on how our Farmers Market Ambassador Program supports community connection and access to healthy food, while also highlighting the ways our markets are celebrating the Spring Season and our Mother Earth.

The Farmers Market Ambassador Program helps bridge the gap between our community and the resources available at local farmers markets. Ambassadors share information about programs like CalFresh and Market Match, help shoppers navigate market spaces, and work with vendors to ensure inclusive and welcoming experiences for all. In honor of Earth Day, we’re reflecting on how markets play a role in sustainable living by supporting local farms, reducing food miles, and helping families build seasonal eating habits.
