Raindrops weren’t the only visitors flooding our farm on Saturday, February 1.
About 100 local gardeners braved the downpour to attend the 2nd Annual Petaluma Bounty Community Seed Swap — and despite the weather, it was a beautiful, thriving event! The community came together to share seeds, stories, and gardening tips.
We were lucky to be able to share generous seed donations from local favorites like Swallowtail Garden Seeds and Petaluma Seed Bank, and passionate gardeners shared seeds harvested from their own gardens. This year, the tables were full of a wonderful variety of seeds ready to find new homes, ensuring everyone walked away with something for their garden.
Master Gardeners’ contributions
We were thrilled that the UC Master Gardeners of Sonoma County were on hand to offer valuable advice about seed starting and gardening techniques. Their expertise was a fantastic resource for both new and experienced gardeners!

Generosity and sense of community were palpable throughout the day, and it was heartening to see so many people dedicated to growing food, whether in their backyards, school gardens, or local community gardens. They all contribute to the health and well-being of their families and the broader community.
Thanks to donors and volunteers
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Petaluma Bounty’ Community’s Seed Swap such a success — from the seed donors and volunteers to the gardeners who came out to share in the experience. A special thanks to Petaluma Market for the generous donation of rainy-day snacks! Here’s to another year of successful gardening, shared resources, and community spirit.
We can’t wait to see you next year — rain or shine!
